Your new company
Hays are working with an excellent Infant and Nursery school in central Derby who have an Ofsted rating of 'Good'. Hays are looking to recruit two Higher Level Teaching Assistants on the schools behalf to cover for sickness and maternity leave from after October half term on a part time temporary basis.

Your new role
The role of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant at this school will work closely with the teacher, complimenting their role and freeing them up to have more time to develop each child to his or her learning potential. Their main duties will include contributing to the planning and preparation of lessons. They should also monitor pupils participation and progress, providing feedback to teachers and giving constructive support to pupils as they learn. They will be working with individuals on 1:1 basis or in small groups and whole classes when the assigned teacher is not present.

What you'll need to succeed
For the applicant to succeed within this role, the candidate should have a HLTA status with a Teaching Assistant qualification. It is essential for them to have proven experience and be able to implement this with strong classroom management skills. The characteristics of the person should be flexible, adaptable and have a devotion to driving the learning abilities of the children forward.
