We are a renowned educational institution who enjoy an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence in research and teaching, boasting one of Europe's most innovative and entrepreneurial working environments. Exclusively through Hays IT, we are searching for a Financial Systems Administrator to join our established team and acquire a thorough knowledge of our Financial Applications (Oracle Financials) to help with the management and support of our enterprise-wide financial systems.

Your new role
You will enjoy a varied, challenging and rewarding role; working alongside System and Data Analysts to create, maintain, update and support the Oracle software that manages our purchasing hierarchy, chart of accounts and data security. In your diverse role you’ll manage senior stakeholders and take responsibility for complex incidents escalated from our Helpdesk.

As a natural problem solver, you’ll enjoy taking ownership for complex investigations whilst ensuring the highest standards of service and ensuring that user’s expectations are effectively managed. You will also hold responsibility the security and reliability of our financial applications and data across multiple platforms.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant you’ll display a genuine passion for technology and a desire to grow your career within specialist financial applications. In this varied role you will utilise and learn skills in data analysis, application support and financial security analysis. We don’t expect you to know the systems we’re working with, but you should have a desire to pick them up.

The successful applicant could come from either a financial or IT background – but will have proven experience of learning new systems or processes. Good skills with MS Excel and knowledge of database interrogation and reporting tools will help you in your role and any exposure to SQL, Sage, SAP (or any other enterprise application) will place you at a distinct bonus but can be learned in the role.
